Since there’s a huge overlapping between the Horror and the Metal communities, it seems like a great idea to bring these two beasts together, and Swedish Thrashers F.K.Ü. clearly pull out all stops on this. Starting with the name – the three letters stand for “Freddy Krueger’s Underwear” - to the lovely band pics and the monikers of the four musicians in the line-up, they play very well with these kinds of stereotypes and deliver a consistent concept through all levels.
The seed for F.K.Ü's formation was planted in 1987, and they released 6 albums so far, with "The Horror and the Metal" being the newest offering that crawled into our living-rooms in February 2024, delivering pure Metal Madness. While their work is visually and lyrically heavily inspired by 80s Horror movies, presented with a good pinch of black humor, the music comes along in best Thrash manner with headbanging guarantee thanks to the fat, groovy riffs, pummeling drums, and the vigorous vocal performance by none other than Lawrence Mackrory.
Do we have some kind of moshers among the proggers? There we gooo!!
