Founded around singer and guitarist Andy Schmidt in the city of Zwickau in 1994, DISILLUSION  pulled the rare trick of already becoming a staple in the field of Avant-garde Melodic Death Metal with the release of their full-length debut "Back to Times of Splendor" in 2004. The virtuous concept album shows the whole range of emotions: touching, almost fragile moments, and brute outbursts - the genre boundaries melt away, and everything flows together congenitally. 

Despite their early success, DISILLUSION took a creative hiatus until suddenly returning in 2016 with a new line-up. They were welcomed by a large, loyal fan base that had formed during the decade of their absence, which grew more and more with the two mighty, subsequent albums „The Liberation“ (2019) and „Ayam“ (2022). With their constant reevaluation of soundscapes and versatile movements at the forefront of artistic concepts, melted to rich and fully matured Metal masterpieces, DISILLUSION literally took the Prog scene by storm.
